February 2026 Meeting 

SPEAKER:  Linda Poole

Linda is a native Virginian, born and raised on the tobacco farmland.

She attended The University of Virginia and graduated from UVA’s McIntire School of Business with an Accounting degree. She is a retired finance executive from Altria, where she worked for 31 years. She is a CPA and a catalyst for leveraging her knowledge and skill sets.

She is a Financial Adviser, Financial Services Certified Professional and Wealth Management Certified Professional designations. Linda is a member of the Million Dollar Roundtable (MDRT), which signifies her among the global leaders in her profession.

TOPIC: Estate planning.

LOCATION:  Altria Headquarters.  Enter through the Main Entrance and Visitor Lobby.

Arrival and Parking:

All Guests should arrive at Altria Headquarters using the West Gate Entrance off of Forest Avenue. If entering from Broad Street, this is the 2nd entrance on your left.  Security will tell you where to park.  Enter the building on the North Side Main Entrance and Visitor Lobby.  You must bring a valid photo ID.  If you have a PMARA Retiree Badge, you can use that badge as a name badge. A visitors' badge will be provided by ALCS Security for those that do not have a PMARA Retiree Badge.

OPTIONAL ONLINE VIRTUAL ATTENDANCE

Microsoft Teams will be used for online virtual attendance.  

  • Registration is required for Online virtual attendance.
  • A computer or tablet with an internet connection or smart phone is required for the following steps.  If you cannot connect through the internet, a regular telephone can be used for an audio-only connection.
  • You must check your PMARA web site profile and make sure your email is present and correct. 
  • You will receive an invitation containing a link to join the event.  If you accept the invitation, it will then be available on your calendar.
  • A day or two before the meeting you will receive a reminder.  In the reminder will be links to helpful videos on how to start your session, general information about video conferencing, and what you must do during the conference. The link to join the meeting will also be included in the reminder email. 
  • Only members who have paid their 2025 or 2026 dues are eligible to participate.

Agenda:

10:45 - 11:00: Online logon for those attending virtually; 

11:00 - 12:00: Estate planning presentation.

  • Susan Plunkett will open the meeting promptly at 11:00 am.
  • Linda Warren, Program Chairperson, will introduce the presenter.
  • To ask questions: 
    • If attending virtually, use the Conversation / Chat function in Microsoft Teams to submit a question.  MS Teams Chat will be used for on-line questions.  Instructions for online chat will be given in a pre-meeting slide presentation. 
    • Those attending in person can raise your hand to ask a question. 
  • After the presentation and questions, Susan will assume control of the meeting and conduct association business.
  • Susan will adjourn the meeting.
